Cooperation between academia and the private sector has always existed; current partnerships between universities and other organisations such as businesses are nothing new under the sun. However, over the last years such cooperation has received more public attention. What does it actually mean for academics to do science in collaboration with the private sector these days? What does it look like in practice, and what are the implications?

Tonight, various researchers from Wageningen University & Research and a board member of the Applied and Engineering Sciences domain of NWO (the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research) share their experiences, and discuss the opportunities and challenges they see in these types of cooperation.
