ACF-portfolio writing days
Starting the 8th of March 2025, WUR is transitioning to an Academic Career Framework (ACF) for all academic staff members. After a transition period, the ACF replaces the Tenure Track and the Education Career Path, and allows for more diversity and flexibility in academic profiles, while still striving for excellence.
The ACF has a few structural differences compared to before. Firstly, all academic staff will be part of the ACF. Secondly, the ACF sees a shift from quantity indicators to quality indicators of performance. Thirdly, the evaluations in the career paths will still require the writing of a portfolio, but the scope of the portfolio is clearly different. Because of the flexibility and diversity of profiles, it is more up to the person themselves to provide examples that demonstrate their performance and where they prefer to put emphasis. This change requires a cultural shift in thinking and evaluating. To help achieve this shift, Wageningen Young Academy (WYA) organizes portfolio writing days. On these writing days, we will organize workshops about the goal of the ACF portfolio, how the evaluation works, how to write specific sections of the portfolio, and the differences between portfolios for different career paths. Of course, the main goal is to get you writing on your portfolio, so there will be ample time for focused writing. After summer there will be two more writing days.
