Healing effect

During the corona pandemic we have all noticed; nature has a calming effect on us. Fresh air in your lungs, feel the rain on your skin, the wind in your hair. You may be thinking "What's new?", but there is still a lot to discover about the healing effect of nature on our well-being.

With this training-course you will learn to use nature for their own well-being. Each session is built up with an activity and the reflection on the activity. The training is inspired by ecotherapy and the principle of whole person learning.

About the Training

In four active outdoor sessions we explore and deepen our relation to nature.

  1. Natural connection
With the help of a body- scan we connect to our natural surroundings. We then share the effect the exercise and nature have on us while walking. We use nature to relax.

What do you need? Warm (waterproof) clothing and possibly. a fleece blanket
    Keywords: relaxation, breathing, mindfulness

  2. An image says more than 1000 words
Zoom in on the nature around you, let yourself be touched by beauty, colour, structure or even decay. Find and photograph a natural object or detail that illustrates an emotion, thought or feeling you have.

What do you need? Camera (on your phone)
    Keywords:
natural connection, get to know yourself
  3. A green diary
Today we connect with (an element of) nature and write down what concerns us; stress, uncertainty, anger, frustration, but also happiness or joy.

We share our stories and emotions through the talking stick, an ancient way that encourages respect, positivity and genuine listening.

    Keywords: connection, vulnerability, introspection

  4. Make a natural collage
We go out and search for natural materials in the forest - flowers, leaves, twigs, stones, etc. - and use them to make a collage. What does your collage say about your state of mind?

For whom is this training?

Students who want to learn to deal with their emotions or stress in a creative way with help of nature.
