Pollinator conservation in agricultural landscapes: From shortcomings to solutions
Summary
Pollinators provide essential ecosystem services to both natural and agricultural systems, but have experienced declines due to intensive agricultural practices and habitat loss. This thesis explores how pollinator conservation in agricultural landscapes can be improved at local and landscape scales. The roles of habitat quantity and quality within agricultural fields and semi-natural habitats are considered to understand how pollinators can be successfully promoted by management practices.
