Alumni meeting
Road to Innovation Grant evaluator
Want to help advancing the impact of WUR researchers? WUR has established the Road to Innovation grant programme, in which employees can apply for small grants to bring their research to society. You can help by reviewing and assessing these incoming grant proposals.
Knowledge is power, but turning this knowledge into impact is even more powerful! For this reason, WUR has established the Road to Innovation grant programme. This initiative allows WUR employees to apply for small grants to bring their research to society by creating new spin-offs, collaborating with existing companies and developing new technologies and products for everyone.
Are you curious about the innovations brewing at WUR and would you like to use your knowledge and experience to help others? For this programme, we are looking for alumni who want to take 1 to 2 hours (per proposal) to review and assess incoming grant proposals.
All professional backgrounds are welcome, but we are particularly looking for you if you have an affiliation to:
- Experience in companies and/or consultancy;
- Knowledge transfer or Tech transfer;
- Start-up (incubators, accelerators) ecosystems;
- Investments;
- Corporate R&D;
- Founders of companies;
- Business development; or
- Societal impact
How does it work?
Each incoming proposal will take approximately 1 to 2 hours to evaluate.
As an evaluator, you will help assess the received proposals and provide feedback to the team. In order to do so, you will receive support from the KTO team itself. Evaluation for this round of proposals can be completed between 20 January and 10 February at a time and place fitting with your schedule.
Initially, you will be asked to evaluate one project. Your involvement as an evaluator can be expanded upon based on your own interests and availability. This will be determined in conversation with the project leaders.
Register as a grant evaluator
This is a recurring project with new projects rounds closing mid January, May and October of 2025. We are currently looking for registrations for the January call for proposals. Those interested in supporting this grant process as an evaluator can apply until Friday 10 January.
If you would like to apply as a grant evaluator, you can let us know by sending an email to alumni@wur.nl expressing your interest. We will get back in touch with you soon after the deadline.
