Summary

Little has been done to understand the politics of waste-drainage water reuse in the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA) region. Despite the importance of waste-drainage water reuse for the future of agriculture in this arid region, there is little research on how day-to-day practices are shaped by local and national socio-economic actors, political & institutional constraints. This thesis aims to analyzing water flows, and day-to-day practices in the contexts of waste-drainage reuse projects, which are embedded in ‘webs of social, political and power relations’ particularly in Egypt and Jordan.
