3 September - Opening of the Academic Year
On 3 September, the 100th Opening of the Academic Year took place. Prime Minister Mark Rutte, European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Phil Hogan, and president of the Executive Board Louise Fresco talked about how we can use the knowledge available in Wageningen to sustainably develop global agriculture.
Besides the three keynote speakers, Rector Magnificus Arthur Mol and two young scientists also took the podium, and the first Marina van Damme prize was presented in Wageningen.
