Thesis subject

Advocacy and its effectiveness

Many organizations (corporations, NGOs, interest groups, social movements) carry out advocacy to achieve their goals. For example, they lobby to set government agendas, write reports to help change laws or stop new laws, or demonstrate to force government to implement a certain policy, push corporations to address a societal demand, or change societal norms.

But what works and what doesn’t? This is an important question many people want to see answered. However, it’s also a very difficult question to answer, for many reasons. Different BSc theses can be done on this topic. One study could analyse why it is so difficult to answer this question and what promising ways to study this issue are. Another could study to what extent it has been possible to answer this question thus far, and what the (preliminary) answer is.

These theses can be done as literature reviews.
