Biomonitoring of human exposure to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) – Literature survey

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances are industrial chemicals that have numerous applications in consumer products. Humans are exposed to these chemicals via multiple exposure pathways, including diet, drinking water and air. Biomonitoring via blood analyses is a common practice in order to determine the overall exposure.

For this internship a literature survey of scientific literature has to be performed on biomonitoring of human exposure to PFASs, including a comprehensive data collection. Factors influencing human exposure including geographic location, changes over time, and occupational versus background exposure will be evaluated.
