FAQ

How do I find course literature?

Course literature includes all course-related materials made available, either electronically or physically, through WUR Library. Items that may be on reserve for a class include books, textbooks, course readers, etc.

Search for course literature

Course literature is available in the library and is stored in a designated space: the study collection.

Required literature is availble in the study hanbook in Osiris. The information is available under course description > literature. For example, for the course ABG-51806, you will need the following book:

"R. Frankham, J.D. Ballou & D.A. Briscoe. A primer of conservation genetics. (2005). ISBN 0-521-53827".

Search for this book in WUR Library Search and open the record. Under 'availability' you can see that this book is located in the Study Collection with the call number ABG-0001.

Study Collection

Items in the Study Collection are not for loan. You can read them in the Library or make a copy or scan. The Study Collection in Forum Library is located on the 3rd floor. The Study Collection of the Leeuwenborch Library is no longer available in the Leeuwenborch, but has been moved to the 4th floor of Forum Library.

Forum Books

Sometime a book will be available both in the Study Collection and on the regular shelves in the Forum Library (Forum Books). Items in Forum Books are available for loan. You can get the book from the shelf yourself. The call number shows where the book is located. If the book is checked out you can make a reservation by clicking on the blue Get it! button.

Because the Leeuwenborch Library is closed, Leeuwenborch books need to be requested by clicking on the 'Get it' button in WUR Library Search. Then, choose the link 'Submit a copy or loan request for this book'. Students can pick up the book at the lending desk in Forum Library.
