Shaping Senses: Rachel Schuit

Everything is already there, it's just a matter of seeing differently again. How does a blue sky smell? Does the outside world mirror what’s inside? In this individual solitary experience you are invited to blindly trust the touch of your guide as you walk towards an unknown orientation.

Location: Starts from Impulse Terrace
Time: Every 6 minutes between 14:00–18:00 hrs
Duration: 30 minutes

Make sure you purchase your ticket on time! Tickets will be sold at the festival and at Forum Building, during the lunch breaks between the 11th and 18th of May.

About Rachel Schuit

Rachel Schuit (Amsterdam, 1993) uses the body as an instrument to explore the intimate relation to a landscape and its own dynamics, elements and materials. This results in abstract and visual performances in which the sensorial experience of the spectator is central.

Rachel graduated as Theaterdocent in 2018 and from the Mime school in 2021, both at the Amsterdam Hogeschool voor de Kunsten.

She previously worked as a performer and maker with Schweigman&, Teatro de los Sentidos (Theatre of the Senses), Johannes Bellinkx and Marcelo Evelin, among others.

As a teacher, she collaborated with Cocky Eek to lead the project Patterns of Eb and Flow for students of ArtScience interfaculty, Conservatory of The Hague and the Mime school in Amsterdam.

In 2020 she founded Dolly Collective, together with Zoe Schollee, with whom she had a residency at StrandLAB (almereAlmere) and Nyksund Kooperativet (Norway).

Since 2021 Rachel is part of Platform Nexus, a makerspace at Het Domijn in Weesp.
