Common Frog (Rana temporaria)

Observed on 16 June

Along the edge of the pond near the Aurora education building, young frogs can be found everywhere. These are common frogs, a very widespread species. They began their lives as tadpoles in the pond. At this time of year, the tadpoles have developed just enough (now with legs) to leave the water en masse. You can spot them all along the water's edge.
