Internship DARE project (Research and Education Pillar)

In this internship, you will support the DARE project in promoting anti-racism and antidiscrimination practices in education at Wageningen University & Research (WUR).

Are you passionate about fighting racism and discrimination?
Do you want to help building inclusive learning spaces?
Do you want to create a tool that supports teachers in incorporating anti-racist practices
in their education?

We are looking for you!
In April 2021, the DARE project kicked-off as a 3-year program at WUR to embed antiracism and anti-discrimination in the organization and create an inclusive and safe study and work environment. DARE’s goal is to establish policies, practices and procedures that foster a culture of Decolonization, Anti-Racism, Anti-Discrimination, Equity and Equal Chances at the university, working along four dimensions, one of them being research & education.

The Research & Education (R&E) pillar focuses on developing best practices in antiracism and discrimination for education and research and structurally including these at WUR. This year, the pillar builds an online repository that helps teachers in making their courses more diverse and inclusive.

For the period April-July 2022, the R&E pillar is looking for an intern to assist in this process, by conducting desk research, creating a structure for the repository and consulting with WUR teachers and others on its contents.

How can we create diverse ways for students to participate in courses?
How do we eliminate everyday racism and discrimination in class?
How do we offer diverse, decolonial readings lists, representative of different cultural
