Maartje Poelman talks to NOS Journaal about supermarket ads that promote unhealthy foods (Dutch only)

Maartje Poelman, researcher at the Consumption and Healthy Lifestyles chair group, talks on radio and TV about her research about offers in supermarkets and the catering industry. The majority of the products availble for consumption are not part of The Wheel of Five: “For example, you only have three types of apples to choose from, but thirty types of chips.”
The research was carried out in collaboration with the University of Utrecht and the VU University in Amsterdam on behalf of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. The research is an important building block for the National Prevention Agreement, intended to tackle smoking, alcohol use and obesity.
