Prof. Francisco Alpizar is the new Chair Holder for the Environmental Economics and Natural Resources Group
As of 15 August 2019, Prof. Francisco Alpizar has started his work as chair holder for the Environmental Economics and Natural Resources Group at the Section Economics of the Department of Social Sciences.
Before joining Wageningen University, Professor Alpizar was a senior research fellow at the Environment for Development Initiative, and Director of Research at the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE), a leading multilateral research institute based in Costa Rica. In 2005, he founded and directed the Latin American and Caribbean Environmental Economics Program (LACEEP).
Professor Alpizar is replacing professor Ekko van Ierland who has retired as of 15 August. Professor van Ierland will give his farewell address at 19 December 2019.
