Characteristic is the multidisciplinary character, the big (sometimes emotional) part of stakeholders and the knowledge overlap with the larger animal sectors, for example when it comes to transport, housing or parasitic diseases.
Example: goats on Bonaire
The multidisciplinary character is expressed, for example, in a project on the Caribbean island of Bonaire. Overgrazing feral goats have caused a lot of damage to the vulnerable nature on this island. Wageningen Livestock Research carries out projects to develop a commercial, professional and sustainable goat sector on Bonaire.
