Spatialise
Spatialise is one of the three finalists for the Start-Up Award of the AtlasInvest Entrepreneurship Grant 2023.
Core Business
Spatialise is a Dutch startup that uses satellite measurements to offer analysis and insight into the soil quality of agricultural lands. The company is a spin-off from Wageningen University and Research, and has been developing their SaaS product in collaboration with GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit).
Spatialise works with multiple satellites, soil sample databases and an advanced machine learning model developed in-house to calculate the soil organic carbon levels with a resolution up to 10 x 10 m. The precision of their estimates is unparalleled in the industry, enabling them to have a major impact on scaling up regeneration of soils.
The tool developed by Spatialise can be used by companies operating in agrifood value chains for MRV (Monitoring, Reporting and Verification) of corporate sustainability and carbon goals towards net-zero. Increasing trust and confidence for disclosures on Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) frameworks, in light of the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
The company has recently acquired their first private-sector customers and are scaling up their operations across Europe, Africa and the Americas.
