Would you like to know what it feels like to work, study or live on the Wageningen Campus? Do you want to learn more about Wageningen University & Research? Or do you want to take a look inside the educational building Forum or the greenhouses of Unifarm? Students of Wageningen University & Research, who have been trained as campus tour guides, offer several types of tours around campus!
The Campus Tour gives (future) students, employees or other interested people a good impression of the Wageningen Campus.
The Campus Tour gives you a good impression of Wageningen University & Research, its origin and Campus as well as what it is like to work and study in Wageningen. The tour also provides you information about the different facilities, businesses, special places and art at our campus.
The Campus Tour is a tour across the campus given by students that have been trained as Campus Tour guides. During this tour no buildings will be entered except the educational building Forum (also open on Saturdays), and the ground floor of the educational building Orion, where you can take a look around. The Campus Tour lasts approximately 1 hour and the starting point is at the reception of the Atlas building.
The route goes through our ‘wet garden’, towards Omnia and Orion, along the bus lane towards Campus Plaza and the endpoint is the main entrance of Forum. The Campus Tour normally finishes at the main entrance of Forum but in consultation another start- or endpoint can be discussed. The Campus Tour guides give campus tours regularly and share their own experiences as a student of Wageningen University with participants. Per campus guide 12 people can join a campus tour and the tour can be given in Dutch or English.
The Unifarm Tour is a tour in the greenhouses of Unifarm, given by students who have been trained as Unifarm tour guide.
The Unifarm Tour is a tour in the greenhouses of Unifarm, given by students who have been trained as Unifarm tour guides. The Unifarm Tour guides follow a study in the direction of nature and plants themselves. The Unifarm Tour lasts approximately 1 hour, starting point is the reception of Unifarm. In the greenhouses alternating set-ups and experiments are conducted, for example experiments that research different kinds of light, pest control, soil fertilization and plant breeding. During a large part of the year also the tropical greenhouse can be visited.
The Unifarm Tour is given by students that give campus tours regularly and can share their own experiences as student of Wageningen University with participants as well. The Unifarm Tour can be given in Dutch or in English. Next to Unifarm a new building has been built, the NPEC greenhouse (Dutch Plant Eco-Phenotyping Centre). The NPEC greenhouse houses a robot that can analyse plants very quickly and collects a lot of data. This greenhouse has its own tour, which can be booked separately or in addition to the Unifarm Tour.
Unifarm can only be visited during office hours.
It is now also possible to book a tour in the very new NPEC (Dutch Plant Eco-Phenotyping Centre) greenhouse of Unifarm.
The NPEC Tour is a tour through the NPEC greenhouse, one of the newest greenhouses of Unifarm. In this greenhouse a lot of technology can be found that enables fast and easy analyses of plants. This project is a collaboration with the University of Utrecht and NWO (Dutch Organisation for Scientific Reearch), to encourage scientific research in the Netherlands.
Many different kinds of research take place in this greenhouse, for example on tomatoes, quinoa or potatoes. The NPEC Tour is given by students that give campus tours regularly and can share their own experiences as student of Wageningen University with participants as well. A tour at NPEC lasts approximately 45 minutes. The starting point is the reception of Unifarm.
NPEC can only be visited during office hours.
The Forum Tour is a tour through the entire building of the educational building Forum.
The Forum Tour is a tour in educational building Forum. This educational building with 7 floors has a top floor from which you have a beautiful view over the campus and the surrounding valley. If possible the library will be visited, but this is only possible during self-study or exam weeks.
The Forum Tour lasts approximately 1 hour. The Forum Tour will be given by students that have been trained for this and who can share their own experiences of studying at Wageningen University. The starting point is the reception of Forum. The Forum Tour can be given in Dutch or English.
