Preparing for the MSc Biosystems Engineering
Are you currently studying at a university of applied sciences and considering the MSc Biosystems Engineering (MBE)? By following the courses in this minor, you can get a taste of studying at an academic level and prepare yourself in terms of content for the Master’s. Even if you don’t plan to continue into the MSc programme, the courses listed below provide a solid foundation of knowledge. The minor is taught in the first semester, spread across Periods 1, 2, and 3.
Period 1:
- Morning block, 1MO: Choose one of two courses based on your interests.
- Afternoon block, 1AF: You can choose either one course or a combination of two courses.
- Period 2: You will take two compulsory courses, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
- Period 3: This shorter period includes one full-day course. You can follow this course if, for example, you need an additional 6 ECTS to reach a total of 30. Please note: if you choose to take this course, do not also take it in Period 1.
To be eligible for the MSc Biosystems Engineering, completing 24 ECTS from this minor is sufficient. Period 3 is shorter than Periods 1 and 2. For more information on how the academic year is structured at WUR, see the Academic year.
You can find detailed descriptions of the courses in the Study Handbook. Please note: course content is subject to change. The final timetable for the upcoming academic year will be published in the summer.
