Education Experience for teachers & staff

The Education Experience Team gathers feedback from teachers and staff members in our sessions to understand their needs and opportunities.
We use these insights to drive improvements and enhance the education experience for everyone at WUR.

How to join a session?

Click the button below to sign up for our sessions. You can choose which sessions you'd like to join. Most are held on campus during lunch breaks, and we provide free vegetarian lunches.

After you sign up, we'll send you an Outlook invite and an email with details about the session location.

On the day of the session, just show up at the specified location at the announced time!

What happens during a session?

The sessions last about 2 hours. We provide food and drinks suitable for the time, such as lunch and juice, coffee and cookies, or soda and snacks.

A facilitator will guide you through one of our methods, like Customer Journey, Awareness Mapping, Design Thinking, or Make Your Mark. You'll work in small groups with teachers or staff members from across WUR, sharing your experiences.

In some sessions, we mix teachers and students into groups; we'll always let you know beforehand if this is the case.

Our organisational embedding

The team is part of the Education & Student Affairs department at WUR. We organize sessions in consultation with our clients, who can be department heads, product owners, program directors, project leaders, or anyone else at WUR with the capacity to make changes.

Our goal is to provide insights to WUR teams to improve education-related processes and services.

Our way of working

Clients usually come to us with research questions about their service or tool. One of our product managers will schedule an intake meeting to discuss these questions and determine if our methods are suitable. If so, we’ll plan a session.

After the session, one of our analysts will process the data and send the results to the client. These results will also be shared with session participants via email.

Once the results are delivered, it’s up to the client to use them to improve their system or tool. We will follow up periodically over 9 months to review the client’s progress and any changes made.

Internationalisation

As you probably know, internationalisation in higher education is under the spotlight in government discussions. Therefore a workgroup Internationalisation is starting within ESA. Topics like international student enrolment, international learning in programmes, and support for diverse academic communities are being debated, and these decisions could have a big impact on all of us at WUR.

We believe your perspectives as teachers and study advisers - and those of students - are essential to this conversation. To gather input, we’re hosting interactive sessions where you can share your experiences, challenges, and ideas about internationalisation at WUR. Your insights will help us identify key needs and opportunities to keep our university a thriving, inclusive space for everyone.
