Receiving support when facing problems
Respect the Rainbow
This Awareness Mapping topic brought out suggestions from participants on how WUR can be a more inclusive and friendly for the LGBTQ+ community. The main needs students have voiced are the following:
1.A university that normalises, facilitates, and sets the responsible example across the-board.
2. A community with shared responsibility and awareness.
3. A safe space in which mutual understanding is aimed for rather than
judgement.
Multiple ways on how this may be done were mentioned, such as events to facilitate discussion, education and training. The results were given to SSC Diversity & Inclusion.

Students (Education)
Following a course
In this Customer Journey Mapping session, the key moments in following a course were examined. Students identified the orientation before choosing a course, the registration for the course and the self-study week as key moments. Overall, students indicated that they would like more information on the course before it started and more clarity throughout the course. Specifically, including course information on relevance, possible overlap and opinions of students that followed the course would support students in making an informed decision on which courses to follow.
Throughout the course, students can be supported by offering simple online systems, personal course schedules, and clarity on which facilities are available during the course. The Osiris team, the Brightspace team and the myWURtoday team used the outcomes of this session.
Study Places
In these Awareness Mapping sessions, students identified their needs regarding study places in WUR. The three main points participants needed were: 1. A quiet environment with low movements from others. 2. An environment with natural light and plants, where there are nearby facilities for beverages, food, and toilets. 3. IT facilities, such as enough electrical sockets and monitors, with whiteboards in rooms. Additionally, having large adjustable desks and chairs were mentioned to be valuable.
