Refrigerated Transport Technology | on-campus edition

Would you like to understand how refrigerated transport equipment works? Would you like to learn how your settings affect the climate conditions during reefer transport? Then this course is ideal for you.

Temperature-controlled transport by reefer containers and trucks is an important topic in the logistics chain of temperature-sensitive goods. Extended knowledge on the complex subject of refrigeration helps to improve climate control and energy efficiency in a safe manner, extend shelf life and minimise waste. Target audience

This course is designed for professionals responsible for and/or interested in reefer transport of fresh food in temperature-controlled cargoes (e.g. fruits, meat, fish, seafood, vegetables, dairy) and non-food products (e.g. flowers and pharmaceuticals). Both technical and non-engineering educated professionals can join this course.

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of this programme, you will be able to:

  • Explain the basics of refrigerated transport technology.
  • Apply this technology to control temperature, humidity and gas atmosphere conditions during transportation in an energy-efficient way leading to optimisation of the total cold chain.

In this one-day programme, you will explore the future challenges and opportunities of this specialised form of transport together with the other participants. Topics are:

  • Using refrigerated transport to full effectiveness;
  • Thermodynamics principles of refrigeration systems;
  • Insights in advanced conditioning technologies .

Please download the flyer for the full programme.

You can combine this course with our connected course Fresh Food Quality that will be held from 11 – 14 June 2024.

After attending this course a certificate is issued.

This course was really suitable for me. A good impression of the technology related to refrigerated transport.
Cindy Palte, Seafreight Operations, Natures Pride

This course was hard work, the knowledge could be detailed for a person with a more commercial background. But with the support of the experts I learned an awful lot on how we can deliver the cargo in optimal condition.
