Bhutan is a land that highly values the conservation of nature and is the first country to place more emphasis on measuring the happiness of the citizens as an indicator for development. For my study “International Land and Water Management”, I am lucky enough to spend 4 months in Bhutan for my internship at the National Soil Service Centre.

For my thesis I will be focusing on the potential of agroforestry systems and comparing this to the Bhutanese traditional cultivation systems. Besides this, I will also take in their way of life and the culture of Buddhism. To read my stories and see what this all may look like, check out this page.
