Academic Writing part 2: Thesis (online)
Are you in the process of writing your thesis? You may have questions about how to formulate complex sentences, how to use the correct style and words to make a professional impression, or how to best edit the text. This online course will help you to answer these questions and optimise your writing skills.
Academic Writing part 2 is aimed at bachelor’s and master’s students that are currently writing their thesis and who want to improve their academic writing skills.
B2 and up (CEFR)
Your thesis is the starting point for this course. To get the most out of this course, it is important that the date for handing in your thesis is after the end of the course. If you have not yet started your thesis, then we suggest that you take Academic Writing part 1.
During the course you will:
- read different academic texts and analyse their language use;
- write different texts related to parts of your thesis;
- how to structure text well and organise information.
Our lecturer will help you to:
- write complex sentences;
- use the correct words, academic phrases, and grammar for your thesis;
- develop your skills such as planning, reviewing, and editing your text.
Before you can enrol in Academic Writing courses you will have to take a Placement Test (OOPT).
You need a minimum score of 70 to enrol in Academic Writing part 2. You can request the OOPT by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
