Speaking Skills
Do you already speak English reasonably well, but would you like to speak the language with greater ease and more confidence? Now’s the chance! This course offers you the chance to take your English speaking skills to the next level.

The Speaking Skills course is intended for everyone who want to improve their speaking skills.

Course content
Naturally, this course involves a lot of talking. You talk about a variety of themes, which will gradually expand your vocabulary. You will also be given useful tips to help you learn to speak more fluently.
During the course:
- you talk about things like work, current affairs, plans for the future, hobbies and leisure activities;
- you get tips on how to learn and remember vocabulary effectively;
- we discuss why vocabulary and tone are important;
- you learn the quirks of the English language and typical English expressions;
- you learn how to avoid vague language.
Admission requirements
To take this course you need an Oxford Online Placement Test (OOPT) score between 60-80. You can apply for the online OOPT by emailing us at into@wur.nl.

Dates and times
This course is offered annually in March and September.

Location
You follow the course entirely online using the Virtual Classroom in Brightspace or at our location: Campus Wageningen University & Research.
Number of meetings
10 sessions of 1.5 hours per week.
