Introduction to GitLab

Do you write scientific software? Or do you write scripts as part of your research (e.g. Python, R, Matlab, Perl)? If so, you’ve likely experienced the problems that come with code management: where is that version I saved? I’ve broken something, what do I undo to fix it? In this course, you can learn how to solve these problems using the free and open source tool Git. The course is open for WUR staff and students and free of charge.

About the course

This course introduces the concepts of code management using Git. We will use the WUR Gitlab instance at https://git.wur.nl, which is available for free to all WUR researchers to manage their code.

No previous experience is required, although some experience with running or editing code (Python, R, Matlab, Java, Perl or any other language) is useful.
