Find scientific articles for your assignment

For your course assignments, you'll need to find scientific information in addition to the recommended course literature. WUR Library offers a wide range of academic, peer-reviewed journals, books and databases.

WUR Library Search

A good starting point for finding literature is the Library's website. There you can access many search systems, databases and e-journals. Through WUR Library Search, you can quickly see which sources are available online and which are available in the print collection. Click on the blue Get it! button to access the full text of the publication, or to request the printed book.

Databases

Bibliographic databases are important tools when looking for scientific journal articles on your topic or by a specific author. The Library offers a selection of databases via its homepage. Go to:

  • Databases & Collections on the Library's homepage to access multidisciplinary databases (Scopus or Web of Science) or discipline-specific databases (for example PubMed or CAB Abstracts). In these databases you can do a simple search as well as a systematic and comprehensive search to find scientific articles.
  • Google Scholar to find publications you know and get easy full text access.
  • Research@WUR to find publications, projects, datasets and other research output from WUR researchers.

My study programme databases

As an extra service, the Library offers a short list of the best subject-specific databases for each study programme.

You can find this list in 'My Library' in a tile with the abbreviation of your study programme. If you start a specialisation or a different study programme, you’ll see that the list changes accordingly.
