The Wageningen campus has gained a new art piece. The immense water beetle better known as the 'Must Leave' was unveiled last Wednesday. About seven hundred people came to the event.

A highlight for Marten Scheffer, professor of Ecology and Water Quality. A few years ago he was inspired by the work of the Danish artist Vagn Iversen. The 100th anniversary of WUR was a good reason to start things up. Scheffer put his own  money into the project and the rest was gathered through crowdfunding. Scheffer composed the piece 'Ode to Diversity' that he also performed together with musicians from WSKOV and de Ontzetting.

The unveiling was the starting signal for an evening full of culture and diversity. The event carried on in the Wisdom & Wonder pavilion where people shared potluck dishes and musical jam sessions were held. A physical version of Art meets Science. The evening ended with the Van Uven Music Festival.
