SDG-conference: visions in the battle against hunger
On the 30th and 31st of August the SDG-conference will take place in Wageningen. Hundreds of participants will study how the sustainable development goals of the United Nations can be realized. What motivates those participants? Resource publishes a series of interviews.
Linda Veldhuizen is post doc at the chair group Plant production systems. She wants to fight world hunger by using the concept Missing Middle to bridge the gap between production and consumption, and local and global. “One important step towards food system transformation that I see is behavioural change”.
Lawrence Haddad, director of Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), aims with GAIN to improve the consumption of nutritious foods for all people, especially the most vulnerable. ‘The main thing we have to do is to make it uncomfortable for governments to do little about hunger.
