Defeating Synchytrium endobioticum at its own game
Summary
My research focuses on how potatoes interact with the obligate biotrophic fungus Synchytrium endobioticum. I’m investigating how potatoes respond to infection by S. endobioticum, exploring how they can develop resistance through this interaction, and mining for resistance. My goal is to use the "weapons" of S. endobioticum as tools to support resistance breeding. Ultimately, my work aims to achieve durable resistance against potato wart disease.
