Summary

My PhD research focuses on developing fast, reliable methods to test Cannabis and Cannabis-derived products, ensuring both safety and quality. As Cannabis use increases, accurately distinguishing between psychoactive and non-psychoactive compounds, as well as illegal and legal ones like THC and CBD, is essential. My work introduced efficient techniques for rapid cannabinoid profiling, facilitating quality and regulatory compliance across products such as leaves, oils, and edibles. Additionally, I explored ways to detect and reduce contamination from harmful chemicals, enhancing consumer safety from production through to consumption. These advancements contribute to a safer and more transparent Cannabis market as it continues to grow.
