Arjen Schots on Radio 1 about the importance of parasites

Parasites such as malaria and roundworms, are known causative agents of infectious diseases. Yet, the negative image of these little 'bugs' is unjustified. They play an important role in keeping ecosystems in balance. American researchers have therefore been arguing for some time that some important parasites should be placed on the Red List. Arjen Schots, researcher in our Nematology laboratory, is a true parasitologist. He talks on Radio 1 about the importance of parasites in Villa VdB.
