The Executive Board has appointed Inge Wallage as director of Corporate Communications & Marketing at Wageningen University & Research (WUR) as of 1 November 2020. She will succeed Sander Fransen, who has held this position ad interim since the departure of Marc Lamers to the Dutch Red Cross. Since October 2017, Inge Wallage has worked via her own agency on change strategies for businesses and organisations. During that time she was also director of the European Association of Communication Directors (EACD) until September 2020.
Inge Wallage has a background in both the business sector and NGOs. She has over 26 years of professional experience in a variety of working environments with complex stakeholder fields. She worked at the International Water Association, Greenpeace International, StatoilHydro, Royal P&O Nedlloyd, and Burson-Marsteller. The last few years, she focused on innovative forms of systemic stakeholder engagement, which she considers a valuable addition to communication. The appointment of Inge Wallage will provide WUR with experience in the field of (international) organisation communication and the role of the communication discipline.
”Working for WUR is a wonderful new challenge for me. Society faces important challenges, and WUR plays an important role in this respect”, Inge Wallage says. ”I look forward to contributing to this, together with the many colleagues.”
Louise O. Fresco, President of the Executive Board, is delighted to have Inge Wallage join the organisation: ”With the appointment of an experienced director such as Inge Wallage, I expect we will be even better able to disseminate knowledge and further fortify the dialogue with society in our domain of healthy food and living environment. It is no coincidence that our strategic plan is entitled ‘Finding answers together’. Meaningful communication on societal changes in our domain is a clear priority.”
