Future student about the Virtual Open Day

Besides the open days on campus (such as the upcoming master open day on 9 December), we organise online open days in November and March. These days are accessible from your own home and ideal for foreign students.

International character

More than 100 nationalities visited this day on 25 November. Besides the Netherlands, most visitors came from India, Indonesia and Nigeria. Within Europe, most visitors came from Greece, Italy and Germany.

All study programmes gave interactive presentations in which they explained study content and answered visitors' questions live.

The bachelor's programmes in Environmental Sciences, Animal Sciences and Food Technology were popular. Among the master's programmes, Food Technology, Environmental Sciences, Plant Sciences and Biotechnology attracted a lot of visitors.

What questions do future Wageningen students have?

During the live Q&A sessions you could ask all your questions about studying and housing in Wageningen, other than about the study programme itself. Which questions were asked and what are the answers? We summarised them for you!

Questions from International prospective students

In order to be able to answer all the questions of foreign students, staff from the Student Service Centre also joined the international session. This session contained questions such as:

  • How to apply?
  • Am I admissible?
  • How was it to adapt in the Netherlands?

Watch the International Q&A with the answers

Questions from Dutch prospective students

During the Dutch live Q&A session, students from the social media team and an employee of Idealis student housing answered questions about studying in Wageningen. Questions were asked such as:

  • What is it like to study in Wageningen?
  • What is the best way to find a room?
  • What is the time it takes to get a room?
  • Do students who live far away get priority for a room?

Listen to the answers, watch the Q&A (in Dutch)

Questions from HBO students

There were also 2 live moments where HBO students could ask their questions about the transition to university. Questions that were asked were:

  • What are the English level requirements?
  • Can you tell us about student life?
  • Where can you see if your HBO education requires you to do a premaster or not?
