We have only about 10 years to make significant progress with the restoration of ecosystems and start bending the curve of biodiversity loss. Biodiversity loss is exceeding our planetary boundaries and our societies are at risk. There is urgency, but biodiversity is still a blind spot. Therefore the UN launches the Decade on Ecosystem Restoration on 4 and 5 June 2021.
Wageningen University & Research (WUR) believes strongly and with passion that biodiversity, food and climate issues cannot be considered separately. The challenges can only be solved if we all work together. To make our contribution to this effort more effective WUR takes it leadershipsrole and invites stakeholders to collaborate with us in the Wageningen Biodiversity Initiative.
