Creating business value with Big Data
Big Data is a container term used to describe an area where machine learning, huge amounts of data as well as analytics come together. With all the hype of the technology, the business value side tends to be forgotten. How to identify the business value and set priorities for ‘Big Data’ initiatives? Using strategy frameworks and IT portfolio management models, I will present an approach to make sense of the many developments and opportunities in this area.

Prof. dr. Hans Borgman is currently appointed at both the
University of Amsterdam and Leiden University in the area of Information
Management / Business Administration. Prior appointments include ESC Rennes (France), European Business School, Wiesbaden (Germany), University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (USA) and Erasmus University Rotterdam, where he obtained his PhD in 1994. Research interests include Big Data, technology adoption and IT governance.
