Anneke Bulten successfully finished her MSc Thesis in October 2016. It is an environmental justice analysis based on air quality distribution and citizens' perceptions.

This study investigated to what extent there is environmental justice in the Netherlads in relation to air pollution, by taking a holistic approach to environmental justice Investugated was if there are more aspects of importance in environmental justice than the concern how environmental burdens are distributed. This has been done by carrying out an regression analysis for various pollutants and by carrying out 19 semi-structured interviews.
Injustice was found related to the environmental justice principles of participation and capabilities. Anneke tells us that further research should point out to judge if all environmental justice principles are of equal importance in tackling environmental justice concerns.
