Last Thursday, May 28th, the transfer of the rectorship of Wageningen University took place. We said goodbye to the former rector Martin Kropff and welcomed the new rector Arthur Mol.

In his first speech as new rector of Wageningen University Arthur Mol announced his plans for the coming years. He will continue working on the financial means which are disproportional to the growing amount of students Wageningen University is receiving. Furthermore, Arthur, as social scientist, wants to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration between social and life sciences. Last, but not least, both fundamental and applied research should receive sufficient attention within Wageningen University.

A lot of ENP colleagues attended the ceremony to say goodbye to Arthur, who served as managing director and chair of ENP for almost 15 years. Arthur will be missed for the inspiring and efficient leadership that characterized his style of management. For the next future, Gert Spaargaren will take over his responsibilities and act as interim chair of ENP.
