CALM at COP22 in Marrakech

COP 22 was held 7-18 November 2016 in Marrakech, Morocco. Minister Ploumen visited the Dutch Pavilion to be updated about the innovation developed by Dutch companies and research institutions. Philippe Ker Rault informed Minister Ploumen about the WAsteWAter project Reuse for Irrigation in Arid region. The project was financed by RVO in Algeria and potentially disseminated in arid region all over the world.

Philippe Ker Rault was also invited by the European Union to present the H2020 project MadforWater: Water-energy-food research and innovation to address the nexus in the Mediterranean in the EU pavilion. A seven minute movie was shown to present the water-energy-food nexus challenges and the objectives of the project MadforWater.

MadforWater is a four year project that aims at testing eleven wastewater technologies, six irrigation innovation techniques to reuse waste water for irrigation in Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia. In this project Wageningen Environmental Research leads the water scarcity and water vulnerability mapping, the coordination of the movies and the engagement of stakeholders in the three test countries.
