The Library has supervised the Home Economics database for many years. In close cooperation with the faculty groups of Wageningen University, the database has been drastically modified. The objective of this modification was to ensure that the consumer should be given more consideration than has hitherto been the case. The database has also been given a new name: Consumer and Household Studies.
The bibliographic database contains literature information on consumer, home-economics and family studies. There is also additional literature on the social and economic aspects of many types of domestic and institutional management. The search can be carried out using author, title or keyword.
The following are some of the new items:

  • Selection of books from the Wageningen Catalogue
  • Overall picture per subject matter of all publications from the database.
  • List of all articles published in journals, which can be actively selected.

CHS currently comprises more than 30,000 records, 80% of which are articles taken from journals and 20% from books and reports. Thirty percent of the recent collection can be viewed in full text.
