Curriculum development in Sri Lanka

Between March and June 2018, Omid Noroozi and Perry den Brok will, together with temporary guest employee and former WUR staff member dr. Willem Hoogmoed, work on a curriculum development project fort he Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The project aims at developing a roadmap for the curricula of bachelor programs of 3 universities in Sri Lanka in the domain of biosystems technology engineering. Willem Hoogmoed is the main consultant in the project, given his expertise in the content domain. Omid and Perry will mainly provide expertise concerning curriculum development, modern engineering skills, contemporary teaching methods and staff professional development. As part of the project, a delegation of three representatives of Rajarata University, one of the involved universities in the project, visited WUR and ECS a couple of weeks ago. They were informed about the WUR vision on education, ECS expertise, but also spoke with directors of bachelor programs, and also visited some of the labs of WUR. Mid june, the project will culminate in a work visit to the three universities, discussing their future education programs. To be continued...
