The Cary 60 is a UV-VIS spectrophotometer. With the Cary60 it is possible to accurately determine the concentrations of ions (or color). The principle is that light is sent through a clear solution. The solution consists of ions that absorb light. The higher the concentration the more light is absorbed. In this way, the spectrophotometer can be used for quantitative purposes. The law of Lambert-Beer shows that the absorbance is directly proportional to the concentration of the ions.

• The Agilent Cary 60 UV-Vis spectrophotometer is efficient, accurate and flexible.

• No need for cuvettes — Why use cuvettes when you can bring the instrument to the sample and get accurate results. The  fiber optic probe delivers more accurate results in a fraction of the time, and with no cuvette or sipper, sample measurements are less prone to error. (we are still waiting on the arrival of the probe)

• Measure precious samples with ease — the highly focused beam image of the Agilent Cary 60 is perfect for measuring  small volumes accurately and reproducibly.

• The spectrophotometer can exceptionally fast collect data — with a scan rate of up to 24,000 nm/min, you can scan the entire wavelength range (190–1100 nm) in under 3 seconds and collect data from single or multiple wavelengths at 80 data points per second.

• Thanks to the unique properties of the xenon flash lamp, the Agilent Cary 60 is not affected by room light. It is easier to work with an open sample compartment, you can then simply leave the lid off.
