Fish hotel in Haringvliet has been opened for business

Last Friday (June 28th) a fish hotel was placed in the Haringvliet, which hopefully will become a paradise for fish. The hotel consists of an artifical reef with concrete pipes, and is placed at about 6 meters depth. By attracting fish, their DNA will be more concentrated around the hotel. Reindert Nijland can then sample water around the hotel and see which species are present in the Haringvliet. So instead of fish receiving room service, they will service science!
