GDSC 2017 in Eindhoven (Great Dutch Student Championship)

On 9, 10 and 11 June, 1500 fanatic athletes from all over the Netherlands will come to Eindhoven for the 59th edition of the Great Dutch Student Championship. The GDSC is the largescale, annual sport event where athletes from Dutch universities and colleges battle for the title ‘’Dutch Student Champion’’. The event is seen as the Olympics for Dutch students.

Each year, there are eight annually returning sports: volleyball, handball, tennis, squash, outdoor soccer, basketball, badminton and fencing.

In addition to these annually returning sports, the board has chosen rotating sports. This year’s rotating sports are: water polo, ultimate frisbee, indoor soccer, korfball, cycling and judo. This year the GDSC will have debut sports, which are: (sports) climbing, golf, survival run and eSports. Eindhoven is known for its innovation, adding eSports to the GDSC will support this.

The Great Dutch Student Championship depends on volunteers and all help is welcome. When you contribute during the whole weekend, breakfast, lunch, dinner, sleeping options and free drinks are included.
