LEI Wageningen UR will participate in the Fruit Logistica trade fair with the help of FInish, a European programme that funds software solutions to encourage internet-based innovation in the fresh produce supply chain. Here at this trade fair the three most innovative of the project’s participants will make presentations. LEI will supervise two of these: Sur+ and Purveyance.

Purveyance aims to set the standard in quality reporting by 2020. By combining smart tracking technology with the power of big data, its goal is to increase an understanding of the entire production chain for fruit and vegetables, encourage product quality at the end of the chain, and thereby reduce food wastage. Sur+ is focused on reducing food wastage and food poverty. It uses an app to link the supply of unsold food from food producers to the demand from food banks, so that overproduction is put to good use.

Fruit Logistica is a leading trade fair for the international fruit and vegetable sector. The event will be held on 3, 4 and 5 February 2016 in Berlin. Sur+, Purveyance and the third prize winner of ‘FInish future prize for ICT in the fresh supply chain’ - Tsenso – will make presentations on 4 February between 10.00 and 11.00 on the Tech Stage (7.1c, B-08).
