Lisa Becking talks about her upcoming expedition to the paradise of marine biodiversity: Raja Ampat
This January, 2020, Dr. Lisa Becking will lead an expedition to the richest reefs in Raja Ampat, Indonesia. As marine biologists, we are used to studying the ecosystem below the waves. This time, Lisa and her team will also look at the ecosystems above the waves, namely those relating to socio-economics. Together with a team of sociologists, economists, hydrologists and others, the aim of Lisa is to study how to conserve the reefs in the face of rising tourism. She talks about the expedition in an interview with Vroege Vogels.
