After a three year hiatus, WUR’s Agro Food Robotics team pulled out all the stops for a new edition of Parcours, to showcase the latest developments in vision and robotics. On 7 June, 100 interested professionals from businesses across the agri-food and technology sector joined a walking tour of 14 demos on campus.

Programme manager Erik Pekkeriet welcomed the Parcours participants in Omnia, the brand new space for discussion and inspiration on campus, and the perfect place to kick-off this day. “The need to speed up innovation in the agri-food and tech sectors is felt everywhere, and working together as a knowledge institute with business partners contributes to this much-needed acceleration. With Parcours, we aim to inspire and give start-ups and businesses a glimpse of the key technologies that we are working on.”

From orchard robotics to fully documented fisheries, and gerbera harvesting to livestock welfare monitoring, and the state-of-the-art facilities of the Netherlands Plant Eco-phenotyping Center: the demo teams definitely inspired their visitors. “It’s impressive to see how broad the range of research is and how extensive the cooperation is on campus”, was a commonly heard comment from the participants.
