RHI staff member Elise van Nederveen Meerkerk has been awarded a grant to become a research Fellow at the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences in Amsterdam. From September 2017 to January 2018 she will be staying fulltime at NIAS to finish her book manuscript for her Vidi-project ‘Industriousness in an imperial economy: Interactions of households work patterns, time allocation and consumption in the Netherlands and the Netherlands-Indies, 1815-1940’
