New HSO member: Christianne Crijns

Hello everyone,

My name is Christianne Crijns, and, as of March 1st,  I am a new member at the Social Sciences Department. Some of you might recognize me as I have worked at HSO before. This time I will work as communication / website officer for the SPS-section (HSO, RSO and SDC) and as a project assistant on a HSO project ‘Samen Kansrijk en Gezond/Promising and Healthy Together’. Very much looking forward to this!

I thrive best in a role in which I can focus on the social aspects of doing research. Last years I have worked at the Wilhelmina Children’s Hospital / UMC Utrecht as a research nurse. Here I got the opportunity to use my skills for a research into the protective effects of breast milk on respiratory infections - super interesting and relevant (with the current pandemic). I loved to talk to new moms all day, visiting them and collect all the data necessary for our research. Before this, I worked at the WUR as research assistant at the HSO project “Gezonde Toekomst Dichterbij / Healthy Future Nearby”.

I have warm memories of my time at HSO. I am very much looking forward to making new ones here at the WUR.
