New PhD Candidate at BMO

Recently, we have welcomed a new PhD Candidate to our group, Robert Ochago.

Robert Ochago

Robert Ochago is a PhD Candidate at the Department of Social Sciences, Wageningen School of Social Sciences(WASS), Wageningen University and Research and Department of Extension and Innovation studies(DEIS), Makerere University in Netherlands and Uganda respectively. Before joining the PhD program, Robert worked as Program Officer-Private Public Partnerships and Market Access and Gender with Sasakawa Africa Association-Uganda; Gender, Monitoring and Evaluation specialist at International Livestock Research Institute. Ochago also served as teaching assistant at the Department of Crop production and Management, Busitema University and lectured at the Makerere University’s Department of Extension and Innovation studies under 4 Doctors and an Associate Professor.

Robert’s PhD research focuses on forms organizing that trigger/hamper learning and change at individual and collective levels to address wicked problems in food and agriculture. His project is part of a bigger one called Value Chain Innovation Platforms to improve Food Security in East and Southern Africa (VIP4FS). This project is Australian funded and implemented in Uganda and Zambia.
